PROBLEMS

World vision is partnering with other businesses to let their customers to sponsor children with world vision. The way that we currently work is create a iframe into other businesses website, which makes the website looks disjointed, lag of loading speed. In that case, we need a solution that works with all the business and simple to implement to their websites.

GOAL

The goal is aim to provide a simple, universal, customisable child sponsor website that other businesses can use on their customer, not only fits their branding style guide, but also deliver the benefits of sponsor a child with World Vision.

Pilot project for WV Design system

Prior this project, we decided to build a design system for World Vision Australia, we were thinking about using Google Material Design as we might not have resource to build everything from scratch. Therefore, this project is a good opportunity to see how well that Google Material Design work with World Vision Australia.

My Role

I am the primary designer to work on this project, I actively work with product owner, developers, testers, UX copywriter and Snr UX designer. doing UX workshops with the team, creating user flows, prototyping, user testing and design hand-off.

Persona

We created a persona based on our the largest user segment, which is Mel, who really enjoy seeing those children's beautiful faces, would like to sponsor a child who got similarity with her own children, but also need to see where her donation actually goes.

Design

I worked with product owner to understand what are the customer needs and the end-user needs. I hosted some design workshop(crazy 8, HMW) with the team, I wireframe and make it into lofi-prototype and user test it internally.

Base on the feedback, I iterated the design and make it into hifi-prototype and to moderated user-testing with actual World vision users. This design was improved based on our current child sponsor page. Therefore, we also user tested our current child sponsor page to see the if the user prefer to the new one.

Iteration

After the user-testing, we watch the recoding and try to annotate all the win, painpoints, then use affinity diagram to group them together. we also made a table indicating fail or pass on each task. then we iterate the design base on the result of user testing.
